OPEN SKATE INFORMATION

  • MAX CAPACITY OF 150 GUESTS - We only allow 150 guests max on the ice rink.
  • MAKE SURE YOUR PURCHASE WAS ACCEPTED - When purchasing online, you will have to wait until the system accepts the purchase. You can check the status of your purchase by logging back into your account and pressing "My Orders" at the top of the page. The status will either say "Accepted" in green, or "Declined" in red. If your order was declined, it will most likely be because the skate is already full.
  • NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES - There will be no refunds or exchanges issued.

ELECTRONIC WAIVER

America First Center has made the switch to electronic waivers and requires all skating participants to have one filled out before getting on the ice. All minors must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. To avoid additional wait times, the waiver is available online.

Each skater must check in at the front desk to receive a hand stamp to signify that they have completed the waiver and which skate session they are participating in. The stamps can be checked by the arena staff at any time.

HOW TO READ THE CALENDAR

When opening up the Calendar, you will see Henderson 1- AHL Rink and Henderson 2- NHL Rink. These are the names of each rink. When you see "NHL" with a corresponding time underneath, that means that we have open skate during that time on that rink.

EXAMPLE:         Henderson 2- NHL Rink

                             9:30AM-11:30AM

This means we have Open Skate on the NHL Rink 2 from 9:30AM-11:30AM.

Not only will gloves keep your hands warm, but they can also provide a level of protection for your skin if you fall on the ice. Long pants and socks that come above the ankle are also encouraged.

OPEN SKATE VS FREESTYLE

Please make sure to sign up for "Open Skate", not  "Freestyle". Freestyle sessions are for skaters advancing out our of Learn to Skate program accompanied by a coach. This session is also for skaters that can do a toe loop jump with no need of a coach. Individuals can also take a power skating lesson or work on hockey skills but must have a coach present. Freestyle sessions are defined further on our Figure Skating page here.
